Pool Cost & Pricing
Investment & Value
How much does it cost to build a custom pool in Florida?
+
Custom gunite pools in Central Florida with Professional Pool Company
start at $55,000 and typically range from
$55,000 to $95,000+. Final investment depends on pool size,
shape, spas, sun shelves, tile, interior finish, decking, screen enclosures,
Hayward equipment, and your lot conditions.
Every project includes a custom 3D design and detailed proposal before you sign, so pricing is clear and transparent.

Why aren’t pools $30,000 anymore?
+
Older stories of $25–30k pools come from a different era of pricing and
building codes. Today’s pools must meet updated Florida building, electrical,
safety, drainage, and hurricane-related standards. Material and labor costs
have also increased significantly.
We build long-term, code-compliant structures with quality Hayward equipment, not temporary backyard add-ons. That’s why realistic pricing now starts at $55,000+.

Does a pool increase my home’s value?
+
When designed correctly, a custom gunite pool can:
- Increase resale value
- Improve buyer demand and curb appeal
- Reduce days on market
- Enhance rental desirability for short-term or seasonal homes

Design, Permits & Construction
Process & Timeline
How long does it take to build a pool?
+
After permits are approved, most projects take approximately 10–16
weeks,
depending on:
- Weather and rain delays
- City/county inspection schedules
- Custom features like spas and enclosures
- Complexity of your design
Do you use subcontractors?
+
Yes. We work with licensed, insured Florida subcontractors
for each trade:
excavation, steel, plumbing, electrical, gunite, tile, decking and
screen enclosures. Professional Pool Company manages the schedule, quality,
and inspections start to finish.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
+
Yes. We handle:
- Engineering & plan review
- Permit submission with your city or county
- Building, plumbing & electrical inspections
- Final inspection and close-out
Do I need HOA approval?
+
If your community has an HOA, you’ll need approval before permits are
submitted. We help with:
- HOA-ready drawings
- Survey and setback review
- Answering pool-related HOA questions

Financing & Payment
Financing Options
Do you offer pool financing?
+
Yes. We partner with trusted pool financing providers for
projects starting at $55,000+, offering:
- Low monthly payment options
- Fixed-rate plans
- No prepayment penalties
- Fast, online approvals in most cases
Is a down payment required?
+
Yes. A down payment is taken at contract signing, with additional payments
scheduled by construction stage. This keeps the project aligned with real
progress on-site.
Saltwater vs. Chlorine
Systems & Water Feel
Are saltwater pools better than chlorine?
+
Saltwater pools use a Hayward AquaRite cell to generate
chlorine from dissolved salt:
- Softer feel on skin and eyes
- Less “chlorine smell”
- More stable sanitizer levels
- Lower upfront equipment cost
- Simple repair/replace options
Storm & Hurricane Care
Florida Storm Questions
Should I drain my pool before a hurricane?
+
No. You should never fully drain your pool before a
hurricane. A drained pool can float or shift because of hydrostatic pressure.
In most cases, only a slight water reduction (if recommended) and proper
preparation are needed.
What if my pool floods?
+
After flooding:
- Remove debris and clean baskets
- Brush walls and floor
- Run the pump and filter system
- Test and rebalance water chemistry
- Shock the pool if needed
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Why is my pool cloudy?
+
Cloudy water is usually caused by:
- Low chlorine levels
- Dirty or undersized filtration
- Short pump run times
- Imbalanced pH or alkalinity
Why is my pool green?
+
Green water is typically algae. It forms when sanitizer is low or
circulation is poor. The usual fix is:
- Shock the pool
- Brush walls, floor, and steps
- Run the pump 24/7 until clear
- Backwash or clean filters as needed
My pump is loud or vibrating.
+
Common causes:
- Air leaks on the suction side
- Clogged skimmer or pump basket
- Low water level in the pool
- Worn bearings inside the motor
My heater won’t turn on.
+
Check the basics first:
- Is the pump running with good flow?
- Is the filter clean?
- Is the thermostat set above current water temperature?
- Are breakers, GFCIs, and gas supply (if applicable) on?
